Ego, Glory and Attitude

When you go through life you are bound to encounter obstacles that will get in your way. These obstacles could come in a physical form such as someone getting in your ear telling you that you will never make it in this world. Or it could be that tiny little voice in your head convincing you that what others have said is true and you really are just mediocre compared to others.

Sometimes obstacles like this keeps you safe from harm and humiliation. But then again, life without feeling pain or shame isn't really much of a life to begin with. A true human being must experience the sweetness of victory as well as the bitterness of defeat and must possess nerves of steel in the face of adversity.

To allow other people to fully dictate how you should live your life is something which I for one cannot tolerate. To tailor yourself like a suit to the body of public expectations sometimes can be extremely frustrating to the point that you want to give up and just walk away.

Then again, if everybody had something to say and basically have their own lives without actually conforming to certain public norms, we could have total anarchy .... or a society with very bad fashion sense (thats why we have FHM, Esquire and other fashion magazines to make sure we look good)

A balance to your own opinions and the general public is vital in forming your decisions and could be your path to success or destruction depending on how you want to view it.

However in this world, the only thing that matters to anyone regardless of profession, culture or religion is the spirit within to strive to outdo others despite the odds. The United States of America is a shining example of that. Immigrants without a penny to their names have the opportunity to control their destiny with hard work and determination. Rocky Balboa summarizes the American Dream.

But what about our dreams? How can we make sure our dreams can succeed even if the deck is stacked against us?

As the old saying goes if there is a will there is a way.

Allow me to be crude for just a while. In life you get shit thrown in your face, you get beaten down, pissed on and humiliated to the point you just want to stay down for the 10 count. True fighters will use every ounce of energy they have to pull themselves up to a vertical position, stand tall, stare adversity straight in the eye and keep on walking.

In life it doesn't matter how hard you hit, what matters is how many times you do get hit and still have the ability to get up and keep on walking.

You keep doing that, slowly but surely you will change how people view you. You could carve new paths along the way that one day will be continued on by future generations and people will remember you for it.

Sometimes, its not whether you're victorious or defeated, its the pathway you took to that final end that matters at the end of the day. To put in layman's terms, there ain't much pride in beating a one legged man in an ass kicking contest now is it?

A life lived to its fullest basically has a well balanced mixed of ego, glory and attitude.

Hope you guys and gals enjoyed this article.
